A Jacksonville Gem: Soups On!

My favorite type of food of all time is soup! I could eat soup every day of the week and often have for both lunch and dinner int he same day. There really is no other meal more versatile then soup. Much to my surprise however, given that Jacksonville is pretty hot for more than half the year, when I found out through a friend of mine's facebook page that a new little soup cafe had opened up in one of the neighborhood not far from where I live I was ECSTATIC to say the least.

They're open 7 days a week, a BIG PLUS and for pretty extended hours so getting soup from there is not difficult unlike in the Seinfeld soup Nazi episode. Do you all remember that on? One of my favorite episodes of all time. Here it is in case you need a refresher or if you've never seen it.



The owner is super nice and there quite often so you get to chat with him and ask him questions about the soups and I find the service to be very personable. I've been about a total of four times now and each time the soup selection has been magnificent! Did I mention they regularly offer three soups per day in vegan, vegetarian, seafood and meat options!!! Can you believe that? You are absolutely guaranteed to find one you like. I ate there last night with a friend of mine before she went of out town. We work together at the cafe I work at part time and we both have a love of soups and of course since we both make pretty spectacular homemade soups at the cafe I wanted to go together before I move. I didn't take a picture of what I ate last night but I did take a picture of what I ate the time before that.

This is a red lentil with swiss chard (a leafy green and a roasted eggplant with goat cheese and tomatoes on a fresh french baguette. Can we say DE LI CIOUS?
