Saints, Lions and Tigers, Oh My!

WHO DAAAAAT?!!!
My holiday break is over. I am devastated and I can literally feel my nerves wake up from their six-week slumber as I write this post. SIIIIGH. Well, thank goodness I did a lot over the break I can look back on and I have pictures of that document what a fun, exciting and cool chic I am. Because now that the spring semester is upon me, I might need those memories as proof that I am indeed all those things.

Kyle and I rounded out our last weekend of fun with the Saints playoff game victory over the Lions and my Tiger's loss to the Tide.

I will start with the Saints game, because clearly, if any of you all watched the Nat'l Championship game, there is nothing to talk about other than a complete and total shutout, the first in BCSNCG history.

Kyle and went down to Nola on Saturday and after getting a couple of drinks on the street, I proposed we try to "Crash a tailgate." Now, Kyle's brother, Mike, met up with us by then and we all agreed that was a mighty fine idea. We decided on the rules - first person back to the designated meeting spot with free food or drinks wins - and put our hands in a circle. Geaaaaux team!

We all split off and I went looking to spark up a good conversation, while Kyle just went in for the kill. Five minutes after we split up he had a plate full of home cooked food and a 20 oz triple screwdriver. Well Geeeeez loueeeze. I cut my convo short, and went to the same table.

GEAAAAUX TIGERS
Now, the most unsurprising thing about this little wager was that in LA, no one is a stranger! So, crashing a party isn't really possible because you're bound to be hugged or kissed right into the group. I just mozzied on up to the same table, asked for a bloody mary with all the fixins - lemon, lime, pickled green beans, olives, etc - and side-stepped to the food booth. I loaded up on catfish, macaroni and cheese and deep fried asparagus. LORD, it was GOOD. Since it was of course a RV block party we walked right over to the next RV and started a game of beer pong. We played a game or two, danced, loaded up on more drinks and food and then off to the Mercedes SuperDome we went.

There is just no place on this earth like New Orleans, like Louisiana, period. Don't waste  your breath arguing with me on it.

The game was great, the other fans were great and Kyle and I were exhausted. We went to bed. Drove back to Baton Rouge so I could work and then went back to it on Monday for the NCG.

Now, I'm not going to piss and moan about the Tigers v. the Tide. It's not worth it. It was not our game. Les got out coached. 'Nuf said. Kyle and I still had a great time tailgating, again.

I had an absolutely wonderful and relaxing break. Enjoyed time with family and friends and made several awesome memories in the French Quarter. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Well, except of course to see my family, but my mom is coming this weekend to spend a whole week with me so life is good. I am grateful.

Catch ya'll later.
